How to choose the best food for pets.

Selecting the right food can make all the difference to the health and happiness of your pet, but it can be a daunting task trying to figure out what’s actually best for your pet. We all are concerned about pets' health. Here is some information that might help.

Signs that your pet is eating a nutritious diet include clear and bright eyes, a shiny and dandruff-free coat, plenty of enthusiasm for life and a lack of excess body fat – you should be able to feel their ribs and see their waist. 

That's how you know your pet is healthy.

Dog food that says it is ‘with chicken’ must contain at least 4% chicken

Try to avoid dog foods where the first listed ingredient is labelled as ‘animal derivative’ or ‘meal’ as these products are much lower in quality. We can't 

risk our pet health with low quality food.

Some dog foods are marketed as ‘complete’, meaning they contain all the nutrients an animal needs, this type of food can be a good diet for your pet.

All complete foods have to meet certain feeding requirements, so your dog should be getting all the nutrition that it needs, regardless of how much the product costs. 

Now if we talk about cats here are the things you need to keep in mind.

Cats choose their food not based on taste like us humans, they choose based on smell, texture and how they feel once they start to digest it. 

The easiest way to make sure your cat is getting all the nutrients they need is to feed them a complete commercial cat food. Cats need meat to be healthy because their bodies need amino acids (turtine) that can be found only in meat or fish. If they don't get necessary acids your cat could become very ill. 

If you want to change your cat's diet, don't change it immediately. Slowly introduce the new food by mixing it with the old food for about a week. After that you can give the new food without mixing.
